Dr. Mahmoud Daneshmand, PhD, brings a rare perspective to clients by leveraging his extensive relationships to bridge the advanced analytics research in academia with the practical needs of industry
With more than 35 years of research & publications, teaching, consultation, and management experience, Dr. Daneshmand is well recognized as an expert in Probability & Stochastic Processes, Statistics, Big Data Analytics, Data Mining, and Machine Learning.
Dr. Daneshmand has served as keynote, panel chair and chair at multiple national and international conferences and symposiums such as AT&T Labs Annual Academia-Industry Joint Research Collaborations Symposium, in the U.S, England, Italy, Sardinia, Singapore, China, Scotland, Germany, and Japan, on behalf of AT&T Labs and IEEE; and has published numerous journals and conference papers, authored/co-authored three books, and holds two patents with these organizations.
Daneshmand is co-founder of the Business Intelligence & Analytics program, Howe School of Technology Management, Stevens Institute of Technology, and Emeritus Distinguished Member of Technical Staff, AT&T Shannon Labs.
Previous positions held are DMTS and Assistant Chief Scientist at AT&T Labs; DMTS and Technology Leader at Bell Laboratories, Visiting Professor, Department of Computer Science, Stevens Institute of Technology and Affiliate Professor, Howe School of Technology Management, Stevens Institute of Technology. In addition, Dr. Daneshmand has also taught at UC Berkeley, University of Texas, and New York University.
Dr. Daneshmand holds a PhD and MS in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley, and MS and BS in Mathematics from the University of Tehran.
